Your Realtor Said They Put You First. Did They Mean All of It?

Restaurants love to talk about customer service. But service is just one piece. If the music’s too loud, the drinks are watered down, and the food is mediocre — does a great server save the night? Probably not. You’re not going back.

Real estate works the same way. An agent can be warm, responsive, and genuinely likable — and still be a disaster at negotiation, transaction management, or basic communication when things get complicated. Clients confuse a pleasant personality with a complete experience. So do agents. Saying you put your clients first means putting it into every part of the transaction, not just the parts you’re naturally good at.

I didn’t figure this out because I’m clever. I figured it out because early in my career some clients weren’t getting the experience they deserved — and that’s on me. So I made a choice: invest in people who are better than me at the things I’m not good at. Better transaction coordination. Better marketing. Better operations. Not because I’m lazy — because my clients deserve a complete experience, and I couldn’t deliver that alone.
